Deborah Kent is the Founder and CEO of DKC Group, bringing more than 33 years of federal executive experience to the firm. A retired senior leader in government, she established DKC Group in 2016 to extend her lifelong commitment to public service and to create a community of like-minded professionals dedicated to advancing “good government.”

Before founding DKC Group, she served in executive roles at the Department of State and the Department of Homeland Security, where she led large-scale acquisition programs, technology strategies, and mission-critical initiatives. Her federal career includes designing the business architecture and policy framework for TSA’s $300M Secure Flight Program, leading a $500M capture for the Transportation Infrastructure Modernization Program, and spearheading the first 10-Year Biometrics IT Strategic Plan for the US-VISIT Program. She is also a recipient of the DHS Secretary’s Award for Excellence for advancing national security objectives.

Deborah’s leadership is shaped by her upbringing as a military dependent living overseas, where she developed a deep respect for cultural differences and civic responsibility. Under her guidance, DKC Group has grown into a network of experts who combine technical skill with a strong teaming culture and civic-minded purpose.

She measures success not only by mission outcomes, but by the growth, motivation, and integrity of the people who achieve them. Tyrell Kent joined DKC Group in 2018 and serves as Chief Operating Officer, where he oversees daily operations and leads the firm’s financial strategy. He is responsible for developing budgets, forecasts, and long-term models that drive sustainable growth and ensure the organization operates with efficiency and alignment.

With nearly two decades of experience in business management and accounting, Tyrell brings proven expertise in strategic planning, operational efficiency, and financial leadership. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and accounting, with a minor in finance, and an MBA. Early in his career, he gained hands-on perspective in client-facing roles and small accounting firms, sharpening his communication skills and building a deep understanding of the challenges organizations face day to day.

At DKC Group, Tyrell is motivated by the opportunity to contribute to mission success in ways that extend beyond financial results. What he enjoys most is the collaboration and shared sense of purpose that come with high-stakes missions. He values the diverse perspectives and expertise partners bring to the table and fosters an environment where collaboration and problem-solving drive innovative solutions. Outside of work, Tyrell channels his problem-solving mindset into sports, mentoring, and everyday challenges. These experiences shape his approach to leadership: staying flexible, listening before acting, and finding practical, innovative solutions that keep people and projects moving forward.

Danielle Kent serves as Chief Administrative Officer at DKC Group, where she provides executive oversight of business and strategic planning, interdepartmental operations, and organizational growth initiatives. She collaborates with leadership and consultants to implement policies, improve processes, and ensure alignment across teams, while also mentoring staff and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.

With more than a decade of experience as both a professional and creative writer, Danielle brings expertise in technical writing, copywriting, and communications strategy. Her writing career spans nonprofit grant proposals, RFPs, marketing materials, and instructional guides, as well as long-form creative projects. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Film and Media Arts with a focus on screenwriting from the University of Tampa. She later completed her master’s degree in Professional Writing at New York University.

Danielle also brings over ten years of experience as a language educator, having taught English to diplomats, business professionals, and students in both the U.S. and Japan. A multilingual communicator, she holds advanced certifications in Spanish (CEFR C1) and Japanese (JLPT N2), with additional proficiency in Norwegian, Mandarin, and Greek. These skills have strengthened her cross-cultural adaptability, sharpened her communication, and reinforced her commitment to listening fully before leading.

At DKC Group, Danielle is motivated by the opportunity to apply her expertise in writing and language to strengthen partnerships and open doors for broader global impact. She values mission success not just as a set of deliverables but as the result of collaboration, innovation, and shared purpose.

Outside of her professional role, Danielle dedicates her time to volunteer work with refugee youth, supporting their transition into U.S. schools and communities. She also continues to teach English to foreign professionals and their families. Her leadership philosophy emphasizes patience, recognition of individual contributions, and the belief that celebrating small wins builds strong, resilient teams
